Day 266
Have been feeling under the weather and running a temperature throughout the Easter weekend. My temperature went up to 39.6°C, and I stayed in bed and didn’t get anything done.
Tilda’s introduction to the nursery started a couple of weeks earlier than expected. This was great news, but really poor planning on the part of the City of Stockholm, since it transpired that there were spaces available from 1 March! We had been turning our lives upside down in an attempt to extend our parental leave, and now it feels like all of this could have been avoided if only the City authorities had got their act in order. We have fallen between the rules of the current and past governments and, as usual, it’s all ended up as a bit of a mess. The Solkatten nursery has a wonderful staff and will be moving into more suitable premises in mid-April - premises which are a bit closer to the school the older kids attend. Kerstin helped us out so that we could get the acclimatisation phase started a couple of weeks earlier than expected, despite the best efforts of brain-dead bureaucrats. Tilda, the happiest little girl in the world, has taken to it like a fish to water. Thank you, Kerstin, for your help during the first week of the acclimatisation phase!
The exercise regime has suffered due to my being ill for half of the week. I only had time for one weight-training session and a couple of long walks before I was floored by the bug.
I didn’t eat much rubbish over the holiday, since a temperature of 39°C tends to put a dampener on the appetite. But the scales can’t be right….. The weight hasn’t increased, but has the fat percentage really risen by 1% during the long weekend while my muscles have wasted away? I really can’t believe it.
Result: 29.9 kg
97.5 kg (127.4 kg) Total weight
25.6 kg (42.0 kg) Fat
51.4 kg (44.0 kg) Water
39.1 kg (34.8 kg) Muscle

Day 259
So the ice hockey finals are here, at last…. But after only 5 games, it was all over. Djurgården was beaten by a better team, and all praise must go to Linköping, who put in a clearly superior performance. At least I had the chance to enjoy a sell-out game at the Hovet stadium. The spectators were great - just like in the great days of yore when the derbys beetween the two Stockholm rivals, Djurgården and AIK, filled the Hovet stadium and, later, the Stockholm Globe Arena. I really, really miss those…I can only hope that my daughter, Emma, continues to win at football, so that her mad parents can shout themselves hoarse cheering on their little girl!
The Topphälsa magazine turned me into a photo model for a morning, and the result is now featured in the April issue of the magazine. OK, so I was renamed Anders on the cover. :) The Golden Egg is a fun award which minimizeme.se has been nominated for. My wife and I will be going to the Stockholm Concert Hall to find out whether I may have won the PR category. Yes, I know I wasn’t responsible for the PR, but it was me who ate the hamburgers and it was soooooo hard for me!
Take a look at what Måns at GCI has written!
Tilda, my 14-month old daughter has eaten her first hamburger. Only the bun and the burger, but even so - it was a great success, so much tastier than the jars of baby food! ![]()

Exercise: 2 weightlifting sessions and 5 long walks. Pia came along and counted the number of strides. It was around 4,000 in total, which is clearly not enough. 10,000-12,000 steps a day is is the target. Just as well I usually walk home, too.
Result: 29.9 kg
97.5 kg (127.4 kg) Total weight
24.4 kg (42.0 kg) Fat
53.0 kg (44.0 kg) Water
39.9 kg (34.8 kg) Muscle

Day 249
We really needed some time to ourselves, my wife and I, so we planned a trip to Karlstad, where we would also spend the night. The children were left with a former neighbour, so Pia and I could enjoy each other’s company all by ourselves.
On the way to Karlstad, we stopped off in Eskilstuna for a visit to a Max restaurant. It’s a long time since I had a Delifresh Chicken sandwich, although this time with GI bread! I’ve really missed these burgers. A sign said that the restaurant was about to expand, and I can really understand why. The queue was too long, but despite the fact that the staff was working under extreme pressure and had far too much to do, the quality was as good as ever. Great job, Max Etuna!
We enjoyed a performance of Candide at the Värmland Opera. I thought it would be more of an opera and less of a musical, but this was not the case. Anyway, the performance was fantastic. Pia has a friend called Julia, ,who has a part in the production. Julia, I was really impressed by you and the rest of the cast. It’s a long time since I laughed so much at a man dressed as a woman - an impressive performance by David Lundquist. Towards the end, just seeing you made me smile!
Anyone who had come here to see Sven Wolter would probably have been disappointed, since his performance only took the form of a recording shown on TV. A cheap trick to add a famous name to the billboard? Ditch the TV and let David or someone in the cast act the part of the narrator, ’Voltaire’!
Bye for this time, Karlstad, we hope to see you again soon. Perhaps when it’s time for the ice hockey final?
PS: The sun doesn’t always shine in Karlstad - today it rained, of course!
I’ve done well in the exercise area this week. Two workouts (chest and back) and 4 walks.
